Buck Rogers Atomic Disintegrator, 1938
During the second third of the twentieth century, and for any child, the word "atomic" incorporated into a gun or a robot of the future was synonymous with power and almost unlimited power. These toys are quoted today by hundreds and thousands of dollars, and its charm grows with each passing year.
This "Atomic Disintegrator " you have just above is a replica of the model created in 1938 for the space hero Buck Rogers . Daisy was manufactured by a Michigan company founded in 1885. The original toy can reach 1000 €.
Atom Ray Gun, 1949
Another example of the gun "atomic" toy. Created by the American company Hiller in 1949, "Atom Ray Gun " was actually a water pistol, but its design and appearance are certainly unsurpassed, with a mixture of past and future that would hugely successful if put up for sale again. If you find one of the time did not pay more (or less) than 800 €.
Atomic Robot Man, 1949
The accompanying legend Atomic Robot Man. Manufacturer is unknown, although it is known for certain to be built in Japan in 1949, though still under U.S. occupation. It is the second toy robot that has been reported, and it seems it was a real phenomenon in sales time. It has all the charm of the original, impersonal robot (working with rope) and you could pay up to € 1200 if it is original and includes its presentation box.
Mr. Atomic Robot, 1962
Mr. Atomic Robot is one of the most coveted jewels. It was made in 1962 in Japan by the company Cragstan-Yonezawa, and at an auction in 1994 amounted to € 26,000! It works with batteries and the original design (as well as you see here, which is a recent reproduction) illuminates scientific calculations simulating the front. A treasure of the atomic age.
